Testimonial
Noa Sheer brought both power and practicality to the Waikato Waahine Collective Symposium with her session "Powerfully Persuasive: The Negotiation Toolkit Every Waahine Leader Needs." Her ability to turn negotiation from an intimidating concept into a relatable, everyday skill left a lasting impact on attendees.
Delegates described her as “a force to be reckoned with” and praised the session as “practical, applicable and usable straight away.” Many highlighted that Noa’s content inspired immediate action - from renegotiating salaries to reframing internal narratives around self-worth and value. Attendees appreciated her delivery style, which offered real-world tools with clarity and confidence, while one comment noted that her insights were “the most useful” of the day.
Noa’s presentation wasn’t just informative - it was transformative. She equipped women with the confidence and language to advocate for themselves, professionally and personally. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Noa as a speaker for any leadership or empowerment event seeking both substance and inspiration.

About the Event
The event focussed on an empowering half-day symposium designed exclusively for Waikato waahine. This event was an incredible opportunity to connect, network, and gain inspiration from a lineup of remarkable female leaders who have forged their own paths despite challenges and barriers.
The theme, Breaking Barriers and Building Futures, spoke to the strength and resilience of women who have overcome adversity - both personal and professional - to carve out their own success. The four speakers were chosen based on their own stories of navigating challenges and defying expectations, proving that we are not bound by the limitations set by others, instead we are the architects of our own futures, shaping the world we want to see.
In this empowering and practical session, Noa shared the essential negotiation tools every woman in leadership should master. Some achievements you can reach alone, but the biggest leaps in your career, income, and influence require agreement, buy-in, or support from others.
What Does ‘Empowerment’ Mean to You?
Before the event, the Waikato Waahine Collective asked Noa, ‘what empowerment means’ to her?
“Empowerment is gaining the tools to allow you to get what you want and what you deserve. As we work towards our goals, one crucial source of empowerment is the skillset to negotiate for outcomes we want, to clearly communicate the value we offer, and to influence others to support us in our endeavours. These skills involve an understanding of the biases in decision making, an understanding of the difference between men and women negotiators, strategy and preparation abilities, mastering of influence techniques and the ability to read others' motivations and interests. As we develop these skills we also build a deep confidence that what we want is valid and reasonable, and we deserve the optimal outcome in every negotiation!”
